2018: EXPANSION AND INVESTMENT IN THE RANGE OF MACHINERY

Expansion of the business complex to 7,500m².

Further expansion by 7 new CNC machines; the total production capacity was now 41 CNC machines.

2017: CONTINUATION NEXT GENERATION

Mr and Mrs van Die stepped down from VCN after 27 years and will enjoy their well-earned retirement. They transferred control of the board to their two sons, who have also been working at the company for 23 years.

2015: VCN’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY

On 30 March 2015, VCN reached 25 years of age. Extensive attention was paid to this anniversary.

Spread over two days, we received more than 2,000 invitees.

Further expansion with 4 new CNC machines; the total production capacity was now 34 CNC machines.

2013: EXPANSION AND INVESTMENT IN THE RANGE OF MACHINERY

Expansion of the business complex to 5,000m²

Further expansion by 7 new CNC machines; the total production capacity was now 26 CNC machines.

2009: CREDIT CRISIS

That particular year was all about the credit crisis. Our solid financial foundations and reliable customers meant that we came through this period unscathed.

2008: EXPANSION AND REUSE OF WASTE MATERIAL

Major investments in the entire production operations, replacement of outdated production machinery and expansion to a total of 17 machines. At that point, we had 2 modern production lines, 9 Index Speedline lathes and 8 Tornos Deco long lathes.

A central system came online for filtering and automatically topping up cutting oil for the machines. A new swarf treatment system was put in place for dealing with the large amounts of swarf and cuttings, reducing the losses of cutting oil to a minimum.

2007: EXPANSION

Expansion of production with 2x Index C65 Speedline turning machines. New fully automated car wash, new measuring room, ventilation and cooling production area, moving warehouse finished products and rearranging warehouse raw materials.

2006: NEW NAME

Extension of the production hall to 2,650m² GFA. We change the company name to one with a better international ring to it, “VCN Mass Turning”. We have changed our company name to the more international sounding name “VCN mass turning”.

2002: A CHANGE OF DIRECTION

We stopped doing milling and small runs: from now on, it was only larger runs of complex turned items. Disposal of various machines that no longer fitted in with the new vision and purchase of a number of new long lathes. In the years that followed, we expanded the machinery we had available to 12 CNC machines.

2000: EXPANSION AND INVESTMENT IN THE RANGE OF MACHINERY

Expansion of the production hall to 1,900m² GFA. Further investments in the machinery.

1992: RELOCATION TO OUR CURRENT SITE

We moved into the current Branderij premises in May. The floor area here was 1,300m². In the years that followed, we invested in replacing and modernising our range of machines.

1991: THE FIRST CNC LATHE

The first CNC lathe was put in place in February, in a garage unit of approximately 25m². That space soon proved to be too limited and so it was moved in June into premises of 360m² on Auwemalaan in Leek.

The agricultural machinery arm was sold in the same year, after which we focused entirely on delivering turned and milled items; the company name was changed into the more appropriate “Verspanings Centrum Noord”.

1991: EXTENSION OF SERVICES

Because of the highly seasonal nature of the market for agricultural machines, it was decided to expand the basic operations by doing turning and milling work for third parties.

1990: FOUNDED

The company was founded in April by Mr W. van Die under the name Van Die Constructie. Its primary activity was designing agricultural machinery and manufacturing it or having it produced. The production operations were outsourced to various companies.
