Expansion and recycling of waste material

    Image description

Major investments in the entire production operations, replacement of outdated production machinery and expansion to a total of 17 machines. At that point, we had 2 modern production lines, 9 Index Speedline lathes and 8 Tornos Deco long lathes.

A central system came online for filtering and automatically topping up cutting oil for the machines. A new swarf treatment system was put in place for dealing with the large amounts of swarf and cuttings, reducing the losses of cutting oil to a minimum.

    The first CNC lathe

    Image description

The first CNC lathe was put in place in February, in a garage unit of approximately 25m². That space soon proved to be too limited and so it was moved in June into premises of 360m² on Auwemalaan in Leek.

The agricultural machinery arm was sold in the same year, after which we focused entirely on delivering turned and milled items; the company name was changed into the more appropriate “Verspanings Centrum Noord”.

    A change of direction

    Image description

Because of the highly seasonal nature of the market for agricultural machines, it was decided to expand the basic operations by doing turning and milling work for third parties.
